The first trailer of the upcoming Telegu film Shaakuntalam is released. The movie is directed by Gunasekhar and produced by Neelima Guna. The epic love story of King Dushyant and Shakuntala, portrayed by Dev Mohan and Samantha Prabhu will hit theatres on 17th February 2023. The film is based on the internationally acclaimed Kalidasa's Sanskrit play 'Abhijnana Shaakuntalam'.

The trailer starts with a voiceover that introduces us to an abandoned baby who was born with a purpose to Menoka and Vishwamitra. Next, we are introduced to King Dushyant who meets Shakuntala for the first time. Samantha looks stunning in her first appearance as Shakuntala. When Dushyant sees her for the first time, she is covered in butterflies.

The rest of the trailer is about Shankuntala's fight for her love and how she faced those challenges.
This film also stars Sachin Khedekar, Allu Arha, Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr.M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta and others.
The visuals are nice, but weak VFX leaves our eyes unsatisfied. Instead of immature VFX work, they should focus on some special effects to make the visuals more realistic.
It can be negotiated, though, as we are about to witness both a historic chapter of The Mahabharat and the epic love story of our history. This is not only a love story, this is the history behind the name Bharatbarsha. This will be a Pan India release also, so we can hope for another big hit from the Telegu Industry this year.
