Agent Sai is a detective movie directed by Swaroop RSJ, starring Naveen Polyshetty and Shruti Sharma, and released in 2019. It is a detective suspense thriller movie but not like a typical detective story.

At the start of the movie, it seems like a comedy film. A room with dimly lit, peeling walls, somewhat cluttered, and Agent Sai (full name Sai Srinivas Atreya) watching a movie with his assistant Sneha there. Actually, Agent Sai teaches his assistant to solve mysteries through movies. Atreya is an aspiring detective from Nellore. Sherlock Holmes is his idol and he has also styled himself after him. Sporting trousers with suspenders, a long overcoat, and a hat, he walks into the vegetable market. He creates some humorous moments to show his style. He has a Facebook page with just two followers. One of them is himself, and the other is Sherlock Holmes which is Atreya's fake account. But he is very passionate about his profession. Although he believes he can solve complicated cases, he has not dealt with any major cases. While these are going on, he learns that unidentified dead bodies are being discovered randomly beside the Venkatachalam Railway track. As he walks to the track to investigate an unidentified dead body, he is accused of murder by the police, and he is arrested. Then the main plot of the movie starts. Atreya and his team find something ominous as they connect the missing links. In the end, they discover a criminal ring operating a religious crime, exploiting poor villagers' faith.

This movie gives a message regarding superstitions and criminal activities that are occurring around taking advantage of innocent people's faith. The second thing is the uniqueness of the story. There are more films on such topics but the way it has been represented through a detective story is really commendable. The makers did not try to create an extreme thriller. There are no notable action sequences in the movie. In spite of that, there is a lot of suspense until the end. The twists in the movie are so unpredictable.

The performance of Naveen Polyshetty as Agent Sai is really impressive. Comedy on the one hand and the detective's analytical ability on the other are two things that he has conveyed through one character in a very impressive way. Shruti Sharma as Atreaya's assistant gave an excellent performance.

Other actors also gave impressive performances.

Overall, it's an entertaining movie that is filled with suspense and a useful message for society.
